Bears v. Steelers Betting Preview: Best Bets, Player Props and Parlays |
CHICAGO - After another close win for the Chicago Bears, they face another difficult team in the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sun. Nov. 23 (Noon / CBS). Chicago is currently favored to win by 2.5 points according to DraftKings. The over/under is 45.5.
Injuries will loom large in this game. The Bears are without their top three linebackers - T.J. Edwards, Tremaine Edmunds, and Noah Sewell. This could be a problem, especially if Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers plays, as he will immediately look to exploit this weakness in Chicago’s defense. Rodgers is currently questionable due to his wrist injury. Regardless of the injuries, this is a winnable game for Chicago. The key will be the offense, as they cannot let Pittsburgh’s defensive line control the game. Chicago’s offensive line has been much better this season, but this will be its biggest test yet. This promises to be a close game, but there is something to be said for history. The Bears have not lost to the Steelers in Soldier Field since 199,5 and it will not happen on Sunday. Chicago will cover the spread. A $5 bet on the Bears to cover the spread (-115) would have a payout of $9.34. Furthermore, given how good Pittsburgh’s defense is, which will probably limit the amount of points Chicago will score, combined with the Steelers’ struggles on offense at times throughout the season, the under will hit in this game. A $5 bet on the under to hit (-110) would have a payout of $9.54.
Rookie running back Kyle Monangai has gotten an increased role in Chicago’s offense. That increased role includes being the Bears’ red zone running back. He has had a touchdown in each of the past two games. While Pittsburgh has only allowed four rushing touchdowns so far this season, Monangai will find a way to get in the end zone once again. A $5 bet for Monangai to score a touchdown in this game (+190) would have a payout of $14.50. Pittsburgh has allowed under 200 passing yards in its past two games. Therefore, this is not a good game to bet on quarterback Caleb Williams throwing for too many yards. However, given how talented this defensive line is, Williams may have to be Superman a bit more than in other games and make plays with his legs. Therefore, Williams will have at least 40 rushing yards in this game. A $5 bet for Williams to rush for at least 40 yards (+287) would have a payout of $19.35. The production from wide receiver Rome Odunze has been pretty inconsistent since the bye week. However, the Steelers have allowed more receptions to wide receivers than any other team in the league so far. Therefore, this seems like a good opportunity for Odunze to get some catches. So, Odunze will have at least five receptions in this game. A $5 bet for Odunze to have at least five receptions (+139) would have a payout of $11.95.
A $5 bet on a same-game parlay with Chicago covering the spread, the under hitting, Monangai scoring a touchdown, Williams rushing for at least 40 yards and Odunze having at least five receptions (+8000) would have a $405 payout.
This two-legged parlay (+166) has running back D’Andre Swift rushing for at least 15 yards in the first quarter and at least 60 yards in the game. Swift is still Chicago’s top running back despite Monangai getting the red zone carries. Therefore, despite the difficult matchup for running backs in this game, it seems quite probable that Swift can hit both of these marks. A $5 bet on this parlay would have a $13.30 payout.Player Props
