Cubs prospect carted off field after another injury

by - Senior Editor -

Tough news again for a promising prospect.

Chicago Cubs Triple-A outfielder Brennen Davis is again injured as he suffered an injury Tuesday after sliding into second base during Iowa's game against Louisville.

He tried to stretch his single into a double and, slid into the base, and immediately laid on the ground with an apparent left ankle injury.

The training staff and manager rand out to check on the promising 24-year-old prospect. He was then carted off the field and the ambulance was called.

This likely will end his season; he just battled back from a serious back injury.

MLB Pipeline rated him as the 27th-best Cubs prospect and was drafted by the Cubs out of high school in 2018.
