MONTERREY, Mexico — Former Chicago Cubs reliever Pedro Strop has found a new baseball home, and it is in the Mexican League. The Sultanes de Monterrey announced on Thursday that the franchise had signed Strop, whose second career stint with the Cubs came to end in early May.

The 36-year-old reliever, who won a World Series with the Cubs in 2016, pitched in two games with the North Siders this season before requesting and being granted a release on May 5. The right-hander has 13 MLB seasons under his belt and will look to rejuvenate his career in Mexico.
