MIAMI — Bringing his signature swim move to the New York Mets, former Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez used an elusive slide to score a run for the Mets on Wednesday. Baez touched the plate to put the Mets up 3-0 over the Miami Marlins as part of a three-run top of the second at LoanDepot Park.

While "El Mago" has typically utilized his magical slides on steal attempts, this came on a play at the plate, with Baez pulling back his left arm to avoid being tagged out by catcher Alex Jackson and reaching around with his right arm to swipe the dish. Baez was fired up after pulling off the slick maneuver to perfection.
