Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras was named the starting catcher for the National League for the 2022 All-Star game.

It was Contreras' third All-Star selection during his standout career.

For the season, he is batting .274 with 13 homers, 35 RBIs, and a .890 OPS.

He ties Hall of Famer Gabby Harnett for most All-Star selections by a catcher in Cubs history.

The other starters for the National League include Paul Goldschmidt (1st), Jaz Chisholm (2nd), Trea Turner (SS), Manny Machado (3B), Ronald Acuna (OF), Mookie Betts (OF), Joc Pederson (OF) and Bryce Harper (DH).

Tim Anderson for the White Sox was the only other starting player in Chicago (AL).
