The Chicago Cubs (42-43) will battle the Pittsburgh Pirates at 1:20 p.m. CDT on Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field televised on CSN-Chicago and MLB Network.
Eddie Butler will take the mound for the defending World Champions and be opposed by righty Trevor Williams. In 2017, Butler has a 4-3 record with 4.18 ERA with 28 strikeouts. However, he is much better at home going 2-1 with a 3.18 ERA at Wrigley Field. Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Thursday and will bat fifth for today's game.
