WATCH: Epic slow-mo of Heyward's walk-off grand-slam |
Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward's walk-off grand slam during Wednesday night's 7-5 win will be one of the most memorable moments for the North Siders for the 2018 season.
Heyward spoke to reporters after the game about his 415-foot homer which was his third homer of the season and first off a left-hander. Before the at-bat, he was hitting just .139 against lefties. "Things do seem a little more clear,” Heyward said. "It’s cliche but I keep saying it: Just try to keep it simple, one at-bat, one pitch at a time, try to make adjustments on the fly. It’s much easier said than done. I got a pitch to hit there, and I didn’t miss it. Pitchers don’t make many mistakes often, and I just got one off a guy who’s really good, got good numbers, and didn’t miss it." Check out the following slow-mo video of the epic play by Heyward: For the season, Heyward is batting .262 with three homers and 25 RBIs.
