The Chicago Cubs have departed ways with one of their most successful managers in team history as Joe Maddon helped break a 108-year old title curse in 2016.

Maddon has moved on to the Angels but still has many great friends and relationships in Chicago, including his restaurant.

On Sunday, Maddon and his wife Jaye bought a full-page newspaper ad in the Chicago Tribune, saying thank you to everyone in Chicago.

"Thank you for the past five years, for your passion, for your open hearts and minds, for forging everlasting relationships, and for sharing your beautiful city with Jaye and me. Cheers and Happy Holidays!"
