The Chicago Cubs were blanked 2-0 by the Miami Marlins on Friday to end the Northsiders' 2020 season.
Cubs shortstop Javy Baez didn't get it going this season and talked about his future to the media after the season-ending loss.
"I feel like every player who comes through here doesn't want to leave," he said. "Obviously, I’m pretty sure there’s not another organization like this one. I've never been in another one, but I feel like everybody that comes through here, they don't want to leave."
Baez is hopeful that he will be able to stay in Chicago for a long time.
"I hope I never leave this city in my whole career but anything can happen. Hopefully I stay here my whole career. I love the fans, the dedication that they got for this team, and the other teams in the other sports for Chicago. We'll see what happens and hopefully I'll stay here."
For the season, Baez batted just .203 with 8 homers and 24 RBIs.
"I feel like I was back in Rookie League, trying to figure out who I was. It was just so different and confusing this year (with no fans or video). It was hard. I'm going to work this offseason to get better and we will see how next year goes."
