CHICAGO — On Thursday, Rawlings Sports announced the finalists for its 2019 Gold Glove Awards, and two Chicago Cubs were among the National League finalists. In each league, three players at each position were named finalists for the coveted defensive honor. The winners will be announced during an MLB awards segment on ESPN, which will air on Monday, Nov. 4.

Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward and Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo were each tabbed as National League finalists. Heyward, who also played in center field for a sizable portion of the 2019 season, has previously won five Gold Gloves, two of which were won with the Cubs. As for Rizzo, who produced a near-perfect fielding percentage this year, has previously won two Gold Gloves and will be looking to win one for the second season in a row.
