by - Senior Writer -

MILWAUKEE — Chicago Cubs right fielder Jason Heyward came through with a dramatic ninth-inning home run on Saturday night. Crushing a go-ahead three-run bomb off Milwaukee Brewers reliever Josh Hader, Heyward put the Cubs up 3-2 after Milwaukee shut Chicago out for 17 innings a row to start the three-game series at Miller Park.

Heyward's clutch long ball marked his first homer of the year against a left-hander. While heading back to the dugout after crossing the plate, Heyward celebrated his heroics by paying homage to an superhero. As a tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman, who recently passed away from a cancer battle, Heyward flashed the "Wakanda Forever" salute that is synonymous with the titular character of Black Panther, the 2018 action film that starred Boseman as the Marvel superhero Black Panther. Heyward's heroism at the plate paid off, as the Cubs went on to defeat the Brewers 4-2.
