CHICAGO — Getting the start at second base on the night, Jason Kipnis skied a two-run shot for the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday. The dinger placed the Cubs ahead of the Kansas City Royals 4-1 in the bottom of the fourth.

A four-seamer thrown by Royals starter Brady Singer was taken deep by Kipnis. The two-out shot to right-center sailed 423 feet out of Wrigley Field. Jason Heyward, who homered earlier in the game, scored as a result. Heyward singled with one out in the fourth.
