Help is on the way for the Cubs' bullpen.

The Chicago Cubs have agreed to a one-year, $3.75 million deal with lefty reliever Hoby Milner.

Milner led the Rangers with 73 appearances in 2025, finishing with a 3.84 ERA and 1.27 WHIP.

He was especially effective against left-handed hitters, holding them to a .208 average and a .526 OPS, while right-handers hit .295 with an .820 OPS. He has been a workhorse the last four seasons with 274 appearances, including a career-high 73 in 2025.

The 34-year-old now joins former Rangers reliever Phil Maton, who signed with Chicago earlier this month, as the Cubs continue reshaping their bullpen.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell had some input in this signing, as they spent several years together in Milwaukee.
