Kris Bryant injury update

The Chicago Cubs are off to a nice 2-1 start to start the season.

One reason is the play of third baseman Kris Bryant who hit his first homer of the regular season during the three-game set against the Pirates.

During Sunday's game, Bryant rammed his knee into the third base brick/cement wall in the sixth inning, going after a foul ball down the left field line.

He appeared to be in a little discomfort in the replays.

Bryant spoke to the media following the game and said his knee is OK.

"Yeah, I'm doing fine," he said. "Just spoke with Jed (Hoyer). I told him to put the padding a little higher. We'll see if I have any pull around here."

Obviously, there needs to be a little more padding there if players' knees are occasionally going to be bumping the brick. That could have been a very bad situation for the Cubs but thankfully everything is fine.

Bryant is hitting .333 with a homer, a double, three walks, and two RBIs through three games this season.
