During the spring, Zagunis batted .276 going 8-for-29 with seven runs and an RBI. He was going to be a longshot to make the ballclub, but he is one of the more talented prospects for the Cubs. He will get the at-bats he needs down in Triple-A Iowa in the next few months. Maples had a 0-1 record with a 14.29 ERA over 5.2 innings pitched this spring. He has a 100 MPH fastball but has been very inconsistent with his control the last few weeks. If he can get his regain his command in the minors, look for him to be back with the Cubs at some point in the season.
