The Chicago Cubs are currently on an impressive five-game winning streak which is their longest of 2021.

However, they won't be at full strength on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates as Javy Baez is out of the starting lineup.

Cubs manager David Ross told the media during pregame that 'El Mago' left Saturday's game because of back stiffness.

Ross will give him an off day today along with the off-day on Monday and hope that he is 100 percent and ready to go on Tuesday.

"We’ll give him an extra day, see how he feels when he starts moving around," Ross said. "He's a little stiff, but we’ll get him moving and see how things loosen up."

Cubs veteran pitcher Arrieta is currently on the 10-day injured list with a right thumb abrasion (cut), retroactive to May 3.

Ross said that Arrieta's bullpen session went well on Saturday, and he will next throw a bullpen session in Cleveland on Tuesday or Wednesday. If everything goes well, he could be activated and then pitch against the Tigers.
