Bears sign defensive tackle Bryon Cowart to active roster

The Chicago Bears are adding depth to their defense by signing defensive tackle Byron Cowart to their active 53-man roster according to multiple reports on Saturday.

Coward took the roster spot of tight end Stephen Carlson, who was placed on the injured reserve last Saturday.

The Chicago Tribune first reported it.

In 2024, Cowart played in three games and recorded one tackle.

There was a need for Cowart because defensive tackle Zacch Pickens is still out with a groin injury.

Cowart is a former fifth-round pick of the Patriots in 2019.
