Cubs reportedly "serious players" for star pitcher Roki Sasaki

The Cubs are making moves this offseason.

According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, the team is emerging as a strong contender in the Roki Sasaki international amateur sweepstakes.

“There are some who think the Cubs are serious players here, and after acquiring Kyle Tucker from the Astros, they clearly are thinking they can contend in the wide open NL Central," Feinsand wrote. "Plus they currently have Shota Imanaga in the rotation and Seiya Suzuki in the lineup."

The 23-year-old Sasaki is known for his blazing 100 MPH fastball and a devastating splitter, making him one of the most coveted pitching prospects.

If the Cubs could entice Sasaki to the Northside in 2025, they would have a stacked pitching staff.
