Cubs Joe Maddon is known for his catchphrases and his unique ways to motivate his players and coaching staff.

In 2016, his popular phrase for his team was 'Try not to Suck' which led to t-shirts for his charitable foundation and the motto 'Embrace the target'.

For this upcoming season, Maddon announced on Tuesday during the beginning of Spring Training his new 2017 phrase will be 'Don't forget the heartbeat' which refers to the human part that came in play during the rain delay with Jason Heyward and the team meeting.

He also stated themes for the Cubs season will include 'Be uncomfortable' and 'Authenticity' will be preached all season.
