The Chicago Cubs are shaking things up for the 2020 season as the coaching carousel continues.

Former San Diego Padres manager Andy Green will be the new Cubs bench coach replacing Mark Loretta according to multiple reports on Friday.

The Cubs wanted someone with managerial experience in this position since David Ross has never coached at any level. Green and Ross were both in the Reds organization in 2008.

Green was fired on September 21, 2019 after his team posted a 69-85 record.

Overall, he had a 274-366 record under his tenure from 2016 to 2019.
