DETROIT — With his second dinger of the night, Chicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez plowed a 401-footer over the left field fence at Comerica Park on Monday. The ninth-inning solo dinger served as Baez's third hit and third RBI of the contest, and it increased the Cubs' lead to 7-3.

Detroit Tigers reliever John Schreiber was taken deep on a curveball to lead off the top half of the ninth. Baez also crushed a 425-foot bomb off Tigers relief earlier in the action. After not going yard since Aug. 1, Baez registered his second multi-homer performance of the season. "El Mago" now has five homers and 13 RBIs on the season.
