Carl Edwards Jr. announces the birth of his baby boy

The start of the second half of the 2018 baseball season will always be memorable for Carl Edwards Jr.'s family as they introduced their new baby Carl Fleming Edwards III to the public.

"We would like to Welcome Carl Fleming Edwards III into this world," he posted on Instagram. "First we would like to thank the man above for the successful delivery and a healthy baby." #CE3

Congratulations to the entire Edwards clan and what a way to celebrate a great season on the North Side.

Edwards, 26, is 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA (9 ER/28.0 IP) in 29 relief appearances for the Cubs this season.
