Things never stay the same in the NFL.

Former Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery has signed a three-year $18 million deal including $11 million guaranteed with the NFC rival Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

"Thank You For taking a chance on a kid who had nothing. I will love you forever," Montgomery posted on his Instagram account Tuesday night. "THANK YOU CHICAGO."

The deal is pending a physical.

Montgomery was a standout performer with the Bears and will be missed by the fans and the organization. BearsHQ would like to wish the best to Monty and his family with his future team.
